Simple Goulash | October 23, 2013

I am always looking for that really quick to fix meal, you know, something that you can run in, start working and have it on the table within 30 minutes or less...AND the meal will be filling, enjoyed by all, and it works well with a tight budget. Simple Goulash fits that challenge. This recipe came from a beautiful woman named Pat Ward. Thank you Pat.

Simple Goulash

Simple Goulash

2 pounds ground beef, deer, lamb, turkey or a mix
1/2 cup onion, diced
1/4 cup green pepper, diced
Approximately 2 cups of catsup, more if you like it saucy
1 small can tomato sauce
1-2 cans button mushrooms, drained
1 teaspoon prepared mustard, more if you like it tangy
1/2 teaspoon Lawry's Garlic Salt, or to taste
Black pepper to taste
4 cups dried macaroni, cooked and drained, more if you like more pasta (my family likes more meaty)

1. Brown ground meat with onion and green pepper.

2. Drain off fat.

3. To the drained meat, add catsup, tomato sauce, button mushrooms, mustard, seasonings. Simmer for about 10 minutes.

4. Cook macaroni noodles according to directions. Drain.

5. Add the hot cooked macaroni to the meat sauce. Stir to coat the macaroni with the sauce.

6. Serve topped with shredded parmesan cheese or shredded mozzarella cheese and a slice of French bread. Add a salad to round out the meal.

Enjoy!
