The girls in the Cafe Breve at Illinois Central College are guilty...they introduced me to Chai Tea...and boy was I in love. They also set out to prove that I really do like coffee (even though I clearly stated that I do not like coffee at all). They won with Caramel Chillers...I swear they make the best and my husband and kids do NOT let me forget that I do not like coffee each time I order one...lol

Ingredients:

2-3 cups water
1 Luzianne Family size tea bag
1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1/2teaspoon vanilla
1 cinnamon stick
5 whole cloves
4-6 whole black pepper corns
1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
2 points star anise

 Chai Tea

1. Place spices in a tea ball or a cheesecloth and tie.

2. Bring water, brown sugar, cinnamon stick, and tied ball/bag of spices to a boil for approximately 10 minutes.

3. Remove from heat. Add honey, vanilla, and tea bag. Steep.

4. Pour into a canning jar (or something similar) with a tight fitting lid. Place into the refrigerator for up to 1 week.

5. To use - Fill a coffee cup at least half way with the milk of your choice (whole, 2%, skim). Place in a microwave. Once the milk is good and steamy hot, remove the cup from microwave and add enough of your chia liquid to fill the coffee cup...

This is as close as I can get to the Chai drinks that you will find in the fancy coffee shops...enjoy

Enjoy!
